Welcome to The Marlowe Review
The Marlowe Review is an online literary magazine publishing the work of authors interested in journeys, physical and otherwise, that explore the world as we know it today, as it used to be, and how it may take shape in the future. We are looking for work that addresses challenging topics with curiosity, engagement, humor, and precision.
At its core, The Marlowe Review is concerned with revealing hidden beauty. A beauty that the act of travel exposes with surprising and fresh perspectives. We are interested in encounters, settings, unions between people and places.
There is no room in its pages for hotel and restaurant reviews, listicles, top tens, or the view from the airplane window. We seek creative interpretations of the travelogue; personal perspectives and ruminations of discovery; stories of people, histories, crafts and traditions. Essential to travel is the concept of ‘home’, and the relationship to a place that, as human beings, we continually strive to understand.
Whether they are poetic, fictitious or otherwise, what matters to us above all, is the material and quality of the work.
For our writers, The Marlowe Review aims to foster a community who champion the written word as a vehicle of exploration. We publish work from authors at all stages of their career, and actively promote those who are emerging or unpublished.
For our readers, we hope The Marlowe Review will be a place to which they can turn for insight, enchantment, and inspiration.
Join us, as we revel in our world, and teach ourselves to better appreciate it.
