Who We Are
Edited by Theo Dingwall-Main, The Marlowe Review was conceived when he shifted from a career in property to writing. Quickly feeling limited by the constraints and expectations traditional publishers demanded of their writers, and disheartened at the lack of dynamism in popular contemporary travel writing, he established The Marlowe Review; a new platform that champions photography and literature with a more personal tone, and encourages its contributors to explore experiences and relationships, with places and people, the world over.
Creative and editorial direction for the magazine is shared between Theo and his partner, Anna Hall, also a writer, and illustrator. Raised in San Francisco, Anna has spent the majority of her life living, and traveling, from place to place, further intensifying a fascination with journeys and cross-cultural narratives.
In 2024, Theo and Anna moved from London where they met, to a semi-ruined sixteenth century farmhouse in rural Provence, where Theo grew up. The ancient origins of their house, the area and its culture, continually inspire them in their work for The Marlowe Review, and their desire to celebrate other writers’ stories from elsewhere in the world.
They are supported by a team of volunteer readers and editors, without whom The Marlowe Review would not exist.
