FAQs

How often are new pieces published?

The Marlowe Review publishes fortnightly.

What is the response time for submissions?

Response times will vary depending on the quantity of submissions our editors are working through at any given time. We aim to respond within a month.

Are there any fees associated with submitting work?

The Marlowe Review is free to submit to, but we would ask anyone submitting with us to consider donating to the review. All of our proceeds are fed directly back into the magazine, meaning that the more donations we receive, the closer we get to achieving our goal of offering our writers remuneration.

Are simultaneous submissions allowed?

Simultaneous submissions are absolutely allowed. We understand that writers will want to maximise their chances of seeing their work published. We simply ask to be notified should a piece be accepted elsewhere.

Do you accept previously published pieces?

We do not accept previously published work.

Can I publish my work elsewhere if it has appeared in The Marlowe Review?

We caution contributors against seeking to re-publish a work that has already appeared in our pages elsewhere, but should they do so, we ask them kindly to please notify us of their intention.

Do you accept work from international writers and photographers?

Yes, we encourage submissions from every corner of the world. Our editors are happy to consider works of translation too.

Can I submit artwork or photography alongside my writing?

Yes. Authors are encouraged to submit images and/or illustrations to accompany written submissions.

Do you offer print versions of the review?

As we continue to grow, we intend to reinforce the value of the bound print journal. Among our long-term goals is to offer our supporters a biannual print edition of the review, compiling selected works from the previous six months into a single bound print journal.
